I have received the most stunning letter from Anna, with the most amazing textile details.
Anna is a communication designer specialized on social media, living curently in Berlin and on her blog BLINK BLINK she write this about herself:

I like these small quotes which often leads to something else on her blog. Like this:

I've no idea what I am talking about.

Anna likes to be in movement and to change things in her life constantly. Her dream is one day to become a consultant in matter of design / innovation brand communication and to focus on her own creativity and design-skills.

The envelop itself is a little piece of art. Love the lines!

The letter from Anna is full of old vintage upholstery fabrics.
This piece in velvet have so many wonderful details. I like the difference in the almost tufted soft yarns together with the more twisted flat areas in the design.

FROM KRISTINA.

Received from Kristina in Germany, June 2012.

Kristina writes to me that even when she was a little girl she has always been impressed by exceptional fibers, structures and techniques. She has always been knitting, crocheting and crafting.

She likes working with paper, linen, straw, crepe yarns, silk and wool.

The card is full of the yarns Kristina likes to work with: Italian silk crepe, silver thread from Japan, Shifu –paper thread, straw, horsehair, llama –dyed with onion and homespun, paper thread from Japan.

The weft is homespun soy silk and cotton. I’m impressed by all the homespun yarns Kristina makes and uses in her weavings.

I like the softness and the simple complexity in the inlay. A very beautiful sample.

FROM ELISABETH, no. 2.

Received from Elisabeth in USA, May the 21.

My second letter from Elisabeth arrived yesterday. I think it's wonderful to be able to keep on writing with people and to get to know them a little bit better. My first letter from Elisabeth can be seen here.
Elisabeth weaves the most fantastic deflected double weave textiles, also known as cell weaves and I have fallen in love with them a long time ago. This time she send some of her samples to me. I feel so lucky.

Pretty, pretty, pretty!!!

This one is my favorite, as the colors interact in such a beautiful way. Also I think there is a very good contrast in the thick soft wool together with the more fine and shiny cotton.

Elisabeth were so sweet to send me some drafts too of the weaving technique.

Dear Elisabeth, thank you so much for this amazing letter. This time I'm going to make a little book and put your samples in it, so I can take it with me everywhere.

Received from Céline -Bohème Circus in France, May the 18.

I have got such a lovely letter from Céline who writes the stunning blog Bohème Circus. I invited Céline to take part of my textile letters and I'm so happy for her letter. Mine to her can been seen here.

Céline is in love with paper and her dream is to open an online shop. She likes the magic of the paper, because it's a material convertible and so rich in possibilities. It's the medium to exchange mail and it can be the basic material to create sculptures.

An association between paper and fabric; sewing in the paper.
The stitches is so fine and the coral colored buttons is so sweet and nice.

Zig zag paper. It remeinds me of twill, the second basic weaving technique.

The paper to the right have the most beautiful 3-d effect. Almost like a textile. And to the left a tiny little envelope.

Inside the tiny little envelope were these yellow leafes and the stickers in cobber.

Received from Susan Johnson -Avalance Looms in Usa, May the 11.

I am in love with my new textile letter from Susan. It's so amazing, colorful and pretty. Love it!

Susan taught herself to weave in 1981 when she had her first daugther Ursula. She and her husband built a new weaving workshop and farm store in 2000, on their farm in Avalanche, Wisconsin. It's built on the site of the old barn foundation, in the former goose lot. The style of the building is a traditional Swedish plan, red and white. Please visit her page here. It's my dream to live in a house like that one day.

Susan is in love with the rag weaving, it preocupies her. She likes the mystery of not knowing who have made the ragrugs and collect old ones. I have one from Morocco, you can see it here.

My dream letter from Susan.
Susan writes to me that textile letters reminds her of when she was a little girl and ordered an envelope of sewing trims from an address in the back of her mothers Vogue Patterns magazine. Inside the envelope were pieces of ribbon, ric-rac, seam bindings ect.

I usually weave in black-grey-white and have recently started to make embroidery again, this in more colorful colors. I have always been afraid to weave colorful, but now I have deceided to start, as I can see how the colors interact with each other in such a beautiful way, because of this sample. Thank you!

The ribbon from Laura Foster is amazing. Using your leftovers from either weaving or printing in this way, is a fantastic idea.

Pretty structures and colors in a rag.

In her farmstore at Avalanche Looms, Susan sells books, toys, housewares and textiles. She is crazy in love with Scandinavian design and designers. Earlier she has been selling textiles from Maharem which is part of the Kvadrat group, where I am a free-lance textile designer. FROM CECA.

Received from Ceca in Bulgaria, December 12.

I met Ceca in Graz, Austria in 2006 where we both were invited by Renate Maak, to represent ouer country as exhibitors and speakers at the International Tapestry Symposium.
Ceca is represented at the wellknown browngrotta arts gallery.
You can purchase Ceca's beautiful bracelets at etsy and follow her process and work at her blog.

Ceca says this about her work;
"Working with natural materials not only brings me joy but also much wisdom. In even the smallest piece of grass there is incorporated history, meaning and purpous. I constantly marvel nature. I admire and learn from her genius "installation" of design, color, smell and light ...
It is a great challenge to enter in her laboratory and to be able to add my own thing."

I am now the happy owner of a unique bracelet made from Ceca. This is just one of the amazing things she sended me in her textile letter. 

It is made of cotton cord embroidered and putted together with oak acorn. Absolutely amazing.

The datails is stunning.

Even the packing were one of a kind. It was wrapped inside the letter with Ceca's handwriting on.

I always get so excited when receiving a textile letter, that I often forget to take a first picture of the envelop before opening.
Inside the letter was three small papers put together; photos of "The Garden -installation".  

Made out of pressed petals and leafs, a kind of room dividers were made. The light have many possibilities for playing.

Another project is "Textile in Nature" eco-art symposium founded by Ceca Georgieva in 1994. This land art is beautiful.

Dear Ceca, I want to thank you for this amazing presents. When I open the package at the postoffice I got so happy.
I look forward to wear it on Christmas evening and afterwards I will have it at my studio, so I can treasure it every day. 

FROM ELISABETH.

Another fantastic letter where also waiting for me when I came home from Peru.
I have got to know Elisabeth from flickr. She is a weaver like myself and weave the most stunning scarfs. I wish I were the happy owner of one. Have a look here.

Elisabeth sended me this handwoven letter with embroidery. I think it is so fine in the details.

I love the natural shades of the letter.

Even the stamp is handwoven with embroidery.
I have tried to take the photo so my name is "rina". This was my nickname when I was a child, which my grandmother gave me.

FROM GRACIELA.

Received from Graciela in Argentina, November 24.

I can't remember exactly anymore how I met Graciela. I think she wrote me after looking at my blog, as we have the same interest for gauze.
Graciela is also interested in sprang and have her own group on flickr. Besides this you can see and read about her projects on her blog and on weavolution.

When I came back from my trip to Peru a beautiful letter were waiting for me.
Graciela sended me the most fine fingermanipulated sample in gauze.

I love the details. Here you can see the very simple gauze, which I call a plain leno together with the more complex gauze. So pretty.

Graciela's grandson Alejo at the age of 8, also wanted to send me something. He made me this very nice drawing. So sweet.

In the letter there were two nice catalogs of Textiles andinos and a cd with photos from two visits at museums; Museo La Plata and Museo de Bellas Artes.

This string from Museo La Plata is amazing. I have seen a few in Peru too. My husband have told me that the Inkas used these to protect themselves. I wish I had one of my own. So beautiful.
